About My Blog

I write stories and journal entries that are restricted to adults because of their content, not because of the graphic images displayed on the screen. I am just learning who my readers are. I hope to learn more from comments, or direct email from some of you. This post might be different from any of the ones I’ve included so far in my blog. It’s more directly personal, so maybe it’s going into my “About Me” page.

I once was rejected from a blog listing service because I had these kink.com ads on my page. (Ooo naked bewbies!) So I wrote to the site and told them I got their info off a *site* dedicated to extreme BDSM images and links. Shortly after I wrote my protest email, I got one back from them saying that I was approved. Kudos to having some consistency there. Now I’m linked into BlogCatalog. Another one I found is blogarama. I’ve had at least one Internet eyeball come from each of those two links. I’ve submitted something for a blog carnival as well as a digest of monthly kinky writings. I don’t know where this might go, as far as traffic, but at least I feel I’ve contributed to the blogosphere with my own original stuff.

But I have been looking for other blogs like mine, and I have been having trouble. I got to thinking, why can’t I find quality kinky blogs? Some qualify as landing pages for money-making kink-porn. Some deserve to be edited and spellchecked. Others are like diary entries, or snapshots of kinky life, both literally and literarily. I can’t be the only one who writes good, interesting, hot, kinky, posts that attract like-minded readers.

I have found some quality ordinary sites, though. One of the best resources has been Copyblogger, which is super-informative for me. Bite-sized lessons by way of well written posts. That’s the way I like it. It’s also how I like to write. I’ve also been inspired by Catherine, who is Awesome, and who is trying to get a website off the ground soon, so she can quit her day job, because it’s healthier for her. I’m with you there!

So I’m looking for something of substance in the realm of kink. Where are the quality kinky blogs? Will someone please show me? I want to read something that inspires me, so I stay on track.

It would be nice to make money from something that I love doing, like writing about kink. But to do that, it seems I’ve got to write reviews and promote products and stuff. I would rather post some fascinating personal stories- fictional, true, or just kinky thoughts. I’d rather just write what inspires me and post it. Find me someone who wants writing content for their kinky porno site, and we can have a deal. Who wants a content provider? Who thinks like me?

Is it possible to make money by blogging? Solicitation for *Donations?* Have I just written a “shameless plug” in my own blog? Advertising will probably not create a stream of income for me just yet. I need a different source. At the very beginning, I started with some ads which are related to my niche, or interesting to my readers. Now, though, I cut most out, because they were distracting. The ones I have left are more personal to me, and I could tell you a personal story about each website or membership whose ad I’ve left in the sidebar. Maybe that would be an interesting post for later.
